Beaver Falls, PA – The Geneva women’s tennis team was defeated on Saturday, September 24 by Penn State Behrend with a match score of 5-4. The home loss moves the Golden Tornadoes to an overall record of 5-3 with their President’s Athletic Conference record remaining 1-2.

“We had our chances today, so it’s a little disappointing, but it’s not always just about the win,” said head coach Mandee Craft. “We made progress today for sure, and will definitely be better for it.”

The match was a long one for the Golden Tornadoes as it took five hours to finish. In the loss, Victoria Hinds (Montrose, PA/Montrose) was able to win her third doubles match with teammate Megan Shultz (Montrose, PA/Montrose) (8-0), as well as win her sixth single match (6-2 and 7-6).

Geneva will be back on the court Monday, September 26th as they travel to Westminster College for their team matches at 3:30 p.m.
