Beaver Falls, PA – Big week for the Geneva College men’s soccer team as junior forward Abel Carleton (Darlington, PA/Beaver County Christian School) won the offensive player of the week and sophomore goalkeeper Luke Nolan (Wexford, PA/North Allegheny) won the defensive player of the week for the President’s Athletic Conference (PAC). The Golden Tornadoes won 3-0 against conference rivals Westminster at home on Wednesday, October 5th and W&J on Saturday, October 8th. The team currently sits at the top of the conference as the first place seed with an overall record of 8-3-1, 3-0 in conference play.

Carleton had a late unassisted goal in each of Geneva’s shutouts last week, scoring in

Wednesday’s 3-0 home win over Westminster and Saturday’s 3-0 victory at W&J. His numbers after this week of competition have already bested his totals from last year at the end of the season.

Nolan posted a pair of clean sheets for Geneva during a 2-0 week. He made six

stops in a 3-0 win over Westminster Wednesday before registering three saves in a

3-0 win at W&J Saturday. Nolan’s record now sits at 7-2-1, 3-0 in conference play.

The GTs will host non-conference opponent Alfred University on Wednesday, October 12 at 7 p.m. before returning to conference play against Waynesburg University at home on Saturday.
