Geneva Clinches PAC Regular Season Title with Victory at Thiel

Greenville, PA – After Wednesday’s (Oct. 26) 2-0 win at Thiel, the Geneva men’s soccer program has clinched the top seed and hosting rights throughout the Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship tournament, starting with a home semifinal game on Tuesday, November 1. Now 13-3-1 overall, 7-0 in the PAC the Golden Tornadoes have reached 11 straight wins, seven consecutive shutout performances. 

Senior forward Brandon Crider (Marion, PA/Shalom Christian Academy) led the night’s offense, scoring a goal in each half (13:06, 56:29). Crider’s first goal was assisted by Spencer Edwards (Winter Springs, FL/Winter Springs), his second from Abel Carleton (Darlington, PA/Beaver County Christian School). 

“It was a strong team effort tonight against a much improved Thiel group,” said head coach Gary Dunda. “It was great to see Crider find of the back net twice and we look forward to our Saturday match against Saint Vincent.” 

On Saturday, October 29 at 12 p.m. the men’s soccer team will attempt to record an undefeated season in the PAC in the Golden Tornadoes last match of the regular 2016 season.
