Washington, PA – The Geneva men’s soccer team faced President’s Athletic Conference (PAC) opponent Washington & Jefferson College finishing with a 3-0 win. The Golden Tornadoes raise their record to 8-3-1 overall, 3-0 in the PAC.
Geneva opened scoring with a header by junior captain Gib McCracken (Beaver Falls, PA/Beaver County Christian School) in the 18th minute of play from a free kick by freshman Jake Broadwick (Mckees Rocks, PA/Robinson Twp. Christian School).
Sophomore Liam O’Halloran (Elyria, OH/Elyria Catholic) tallied the second goal of the game in minute 35 with a hard shot through the defense.
In the second half, junior Abel Carleton (Beaver Falls, PA/Beaver County Christian School) reached the back of the net, scoring his tenth goal of the season.
Sophomore goal keeper Luke Nolan (Wexford, PA/North Allegheny) played another solid game, securing his third shutout of the season, earning three saves for the game.
Geneva faces Alfred University next at home on Wednesday, October 12 at 7 p.m.
