Beaver Falls, PA – Geneva College women’s tennis team hosted conference opponent W&J at Blackhawk high school. The President’s defeated the Golden Tornadoes 7-2 on Monday, October 10. The loss moves Geneva to an overall record of 8-5, 3-4 in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference.

Freshman Grace Moyer (Virginia Beach, VA/Landstown)  kept her streak alive. After losing the first set 5-7, she showed great tenacity to win the second set 6-1 forcing the tie break set where she defeated her fourth single’s competitor 10-5.

First single’s player, Rachel Letterman (Moon Township, PA/Moon) was in a similar boat as she also lost her first set 2-6 but won her second set 6-1 and won the tie breaker 10-3.

“This wasn’t what we were hoping for today,” said head coach Mandee Craft. “Grace and Rachel showed a lot of composure to come back from a set down.”
