Geneva Men are tabbed Eighth in Conference Poll

Beaver Falls, PA – The President’s Athletic Conference (PAC) released the preseason poll for the 2016-17 basketball season on Friday, November 11. The Geneva College Golden Tornadoes were selected as eighth in the conference after finishing 5-21, 5-13 in the conference.

Three Gts that were honored in the pre-season poll were junior forward Jimmie Leichliter (Connellsville, PA/Connellsville), sophomore guard Danny Torok (Grove City, PA/Grove City), and senior guard Chaese Vaudrin (Uniontown, OH/Lake).

Leichliter finished last season with 339 points averaging 13 points a game. His career high for points last year was his 30 point game against Washington and Jefferson on February 3rd when he hit eight three pointers.

Torok worked his way into the starting lineup last season for the Golden Tornadoes as he finished the season with 51 points, averaging 2.3 points a game.

Vaudrin has been a consistent leader for Geneva since his freshmen year. Last season he led the team with 160 free throws and assists with 84. He finished the year with 414 points, 17.3 average per game.

The program opens their season away on November 15th at Carnegie Mellon before heading home on November 18-19 for their annual Coaches vs. Cancer Tournament.
