Geneva College Cross Country Teams Compete in Regional Meet

Beaver Falls, PA – On Saturday (11.12.16) the Geneva women’s Cross Country team will be traveling to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) DIII Mideast Region Cross Country Championships at Desales University (Center Valley, PA).

“It’s a really cool championship experience that is unique to our sport,” said head coach Brian Yowler. “In one race, we get to see where we stack up against every other team in our region.”

There will be 56 men's teams and 60 women's teams competing in the meet for nearly 400 runners in each race. The Gts will be sending their top seven finishers from the season. This is the meet that will determine which individuals and team

Three runners were able to gain some conference recognition before entering the Regional meet. Sophomore Josh Duffie (Canton, OH/Glenoak) was tabbed first-team all-conference, sophomore Andrew Domencic (Pittsburgh, PA/Avonworth) was second-team all-conference, and junior Clay Smith (Williamsport, MD/Williamsport) was honored with honorable mention.

The other four runners for the program competing are freshman Brandon Racine (Williamsport, MD/Williamsport), sophomore Levi Ebersole (Mifflinburg, PA/Mifflinburg), freshman Mike Shaw (Phoenixville, PA/Phoenixville), and senior Ken Kutcel (Medina, OH/Medina).
