Greensburg, PA – The Geneva Women’s Basketball Golden Tornadoes registered an 87-83 win at Pitt Greensburg Saturday, November 26. The victory raises Geneva’s overall record to 2-3.

“We knew going into the game that Pitt Greensburg is a talented and competitive team,” said Interim Associate Head Coach Patience Baker. “We focused on doing all the little things right and we played for each other. When we do those two things we are tough to beat.”

Tied at 61 apiece at the end of the third quarter, Geneva finished the fourth quarter strong to edge the Bobcats by four for the win.

Four Golden Tornadoes showcased their ability to score with double figures from Callie Ford (20), Marissa Heaney (18), Jodie Carlson (14) and Miranda Heaney (13).

Callie Ford’s 20 point game is her second on the season recording 20 or more points in a single game.

Marissa Heaney sunk five from downtown on her way to 18 points.

In addition to the stellar offensive performance, Rachel Moore had a strong game inside the paint, tallying six rebounds in the competitive match up.

Next week, the Golden Tornadoes open conference play on Wednesday, November 30 against Washington & Jefferson on the road, starting at 6 p.m.
