Beaver Falls, PA – The President’s Athletic Conference (PAC) released its preseason track & field coaches’ preseason poll on Friday, December 2. The Geneva College men’s track & field team was honored as being ranked third in the conference while also receiving a first place vote in the conference. Three seniors and one junior were chosen as players to watch for the upcoming season; one of them is already making headlines.

Junior sprinter Aaron Tedys was picked as one of the players to watch this season. Tedys was a strong contributor to the squad last season as he qualified early in the season for the post-season Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) meet with his school record breaking in the 200 meters with a time of 22.34. The 200 would not be the only school record he would break as he also broke the 400 meter school record with a time of 49.49. To round off his indoor season meet, Tedys was part of the 4x400 meter relay that broke the school record with a time of 3:25.56.

Tedys was not the only member of the players to watch list on the record breaking 4x400 meter relay; senior sprinter Cameron Unrath was also on that relay. Unrath was a constant competitor in the 60 meter dash event for the Golden Tornadoes. He would finish third in the PAC Championship meet at the end of the season.

Senior sprinter Dalton Paxson also made strides in conference last season with his second place finish in the 60 meter hurdles event with a time of 8.62 seconds. His second place finish was also enough to qualify him for the post-season ECAC meet and broke the school record.

In field events, senior Issac Barringer finished fourth last year among conference competition in the weight throw. He also broke a school record with a 13.35 meter throw.

This season, the track team is already making noise in the conference after their first meet. Tedys was chosen as the PAC player of the week when he ran to a third-place finish in the 400 meters with a time of 49.51 seconds and finished sixth in the 200 meters (22.37). After the season’s first weekend of competition, his time in the 400 currently ranks third in the NCAA Division III performance list, while his time in the 200 ranks 10th.
