Beaver Falls, PA – Continuing the 2017 indoor track & field season, Geneva traveled to Geneva, Ohio to compete in the SPIRE Midwest Track & Field Open.

On the track, Geneva’s Distance Medley Relay (MDR) team made up by Andrew Domencic (Pittsburgh, PA/Avonworth), Clay Smith (Williamsport, MD/Williamsport), Levi Ebersole (Mifflinburg, PA/Mifflinburg), and Micah Daiggneault (Smithsburg, MD/Smithsburg) set Geneva’s school record to 10:53.

Daiggneault also had a standout solo performance in the men’s open 800 meter race with a final time of 1:59.92.

In the field, Isaac Barringer (Delta, OH/Toledo Christian) shook up the book placing seventh in the men’s weight throw, setting the school record to 14.60 meters.

“We had a great day at SPIRE,” said head coach Phil Thompson. “The DMR squad broke the school record and Issac Barringer finished 7th in the weight throw with 14.60m throw, which is a school record. Micah Daigneault also ran a great 800m run.”

Geneva will be back in action on Saturday, February 4 to compete at the Jim Wuske Invitational hosted by Mount Union.
