Beaver Falls, Pa. – The Geneva College Athletic Department honored long-standing supporters “Coach” Don Kephart and Marilyn Shee with the Honorary “G” award on Wednesday, February 15, 2017. The Honorary “G” award proudly recognizes long-standing supporters of Geneva Athletics.
For over 30 years, “Coach” Don Kephart has been the face of music on College Hill as the director of the marching band. Coach Kephart has meant much more to the Geneva Community for decades. He has taught close to 20 different music classes, received the citation of excellence for music education, and received the Excellence in Teaching award at Geneva College in 2005. His leadership of the marching band, which is recognized as one of the finest in the region, has made him a consistent supporter of the Golden Tornadoes and, quite simply, a friend to the entire Geneva campus. Recognized for his unwavering support of the Golden Tornadoes, the Geneva Athletic Department was proud to present an Honorary “G” to Don Kephart.
Geneva College has enjoyed a long-standing relationship with trophy and award business, Mr. Trophy and its owners, Larry and Marilyn Shee. The Shees have been great supporters of the Golden Tornadoes for more than three decades. Mr. Trophy provides the best in awards across the country for youth, high schools, and colleges. Despite Larry’s passing last year, Marilyn has continued to carry the torch for Mr. Trophy and remains an amazing supporter of Geneva College and the Golden Tornadoes. Geneva College Athletics was pleased to recognize her for her great support. Coach Jeff Santarsiero received the honor in her place as she was unable to attend due to illness.
