Ft. Pierce, FL – The Geneva College baseball team dropped two games to Immaculata University scoring 6-1 and 6-4. The double loss moves the Golden Tornadoes to a 2-6 overall record, remaining 0-0 in Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) play.

In game one, sophomore Dan Staub (Oil City, PA/Oil City) had the lone RBI to send home fellow sophomore Jericho Hilling (Willamsburg, PA/Hollidaysburg) in the fourth inning. Senior Matt Chubb (Absecon, NJ/The Pilgrim Academy) also collected a hit in one of his two at bats.

Senior pitcher Josh Glover (Springfield, VA/West Springfield) took the loss for Geneva. He pitched three and two-thirds innings, surrendering five runs, and three hits.

Geneva was able to tie the game in the first inning off an RBI from a SAC fly by Hilling to send home junior Tyler Pagaduan (Voorhess, NJ/Eastern Regional). However, Geneva would not be able to keep pace with Immaculata scored at least one run in five of the seven innings.

The Golden Tornadoes did have seven hits in the game, but also committed an error. Hilling went 2-3 at bat.

Sophomore Branden Schlick (Harmony, PA/Seneca Valley) took the loss for Geneva in game two. He pitched three innings, gave up three runs, allowed three hits, and struck out one.

Geneva baseball will play one more double header match-up on Monday, March 13 against Marywood University at 10 a.m. and noon.
