Men’s Track & Field Opened Outdoor Season at Cal U

Parker

Beaver Falls, Pa. – The Golden Tornadoes opened the outdoor track & field season at California University of Pennsylvania’s Early Bird Invitational on Saturday, March 25. The unscored meet showcased top finishes for the Geneva men creating excitement for the rest of the season. “This was a great start to the outdoor season,” said head coach Phil Thompson. “We have had a few hard weeks of training. I knew they would be tired, so I wasn't expecting too much, but I was wrong. They came out and performed great.

“Cam and Alex had a great meet and Brandon Tedrow had a big day in the vault.”

Sophomore hurdler Alex Parker (Meadville, PA/Meadville) finished second in the 110 High Meter Hurdlers with a time of 15.26 seconds.

Senior sprinter Cameron Unrath (Wexford, PA/Pine Richland) tabbed a third place finish in the 100 meter dash with a time of 10.98 seconds. Unrath added a strong 200 meter race with a time of 22.10 seconds.

Freshman pole vaulter Brandon Tedrow (Elliot City, PA/Riverside) had a big day in the vault clearing 4.0 meters.
