Geneva Baseball’s Offense Overcomes Waynesburg 7-3

Jeff Parker

Beaver Falls, Pa.  – On Thursday, April 13 Geneva College Baseball (8-18, 2-10 PAC) defeated the Waynesburg University Yellow Jackets (9-16, 3-7 PAC)  in a Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) single nine-inning contest; 7-3.

Geneva tallied a run in the first and second innings before Waynesburg got on the board with a run in the fourth; 2-1. Geneva’s two runs in the fifth would ultimately be enough for the win as the Golden Tornadoes held a 4-1 lead after four innings.

The Yellow Jackets’ eighth inning comeback attempt scoring two runs fell short as the GTs ensured the win with three more runs in the ninth.

Tyler Pagaduan went 4-5 at bat scoring two runs. Joey Luciana also had a big day going 2-2 with two doubles, three RBIs and two runs.

On the mound, Jeff Parker earned the win after 7.1 innings of work. Parker allowed three runs, two hits, walked four and struck out two batters.

After a schedule change, Geneva will host Waynesburg on Friday, April 14 at the Golden Tornadoes 33rd Street Field. The doubleheader action will begin at 11 a.m.
