Men’s Tennis Tabs 7-2 Non-Conference Victory before Heading to PAC Championships

Beaver Falls, Pa.  – The Geneva College men’s tennis program tabbed a 7-2 non-conference victory over Ohio Christian on Wednesday, April 26 before heading to the conference Championships this weekend. Now 5-12 overall, Geneva will enter the two-day Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) 2017 Men’s Tennis Championship held in Erie, Pa starting on Friday, April 28.

“Our biggest win yet this year,” exclaimed head coach Mandee Craft. “It was a great way to end things heading into the PAC Championship on Friday. It was also fun to get see some different faces get playing time.”

Tim Martin, who usually holds down fourth singles, held his own in third singles tabbing a 6-0, 6-1 two-set match win. David Streit posted a perfect 6-0, 6-0 fourth singles win followed by Ethan Stahl earning a 6-0, 6-1 fifth singles victory. Adam Boarst recorded a 6-2, 6-0 win in sixth singles for the Golden Tornadoes.

Geneva swept in doubles play. Eric Abbott and Alex Greissinger (8-6), Tim Martin and Caleb Hoal (8-1), and Ethan Stahl with partner Wesley Larry (8-3) took all three points in the team effort.
