Bartoletta Resets Outdoor 100 Meter Hurdles, Ranks 6th Nationally

Slippery Rock, Pa. - On Thursday, April 20, the Geneva College women’s track and field team travelled to Slippery Rock University for the SRU Open. Grove City, Point Park, Westminster, and Kent State where among the un-scored competition.

Three Geneva women were rewarded for their hard work at the meet. Junior Nicole Bartoletta reset the Geneva school record in the 100 meter hurdle event. She set the record to 14.56 seconds while being awarded second place. Her record in the 100 meter hurdles places her sixth fastest in nationally among division III competition. Junior Kailee Loose reached 5.11 length in the long jump tabbing a second place finish. Junior Jessica Kelosky ran a 12.56 in the 100 meter dash placing sixth.

“This gave us the confidence we needed going into the PAC Championships next week,” said head coach Thompson. “It should be a great meet for us and being at home should be an advantage. They have worked hard all year for this meet and it will be fun to see what they accomplish. I am very proud of the work that they have put in and we are hitting our stride at the right time.”

On Friday, April 28 Geneva is set to host the 2017 two-day Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) Outdoor Championships.
