Bartoletta Leads the Way for Geneva’s 4th Place Finish at Conference Championship

Beaver Falls, PA – Geneva Women’s Track and Field team earned a fourth place finish at the Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship meet on April 28-29. The meet, held at Geneva College’s Merriman Athletic Complex, lasted through rain and lightning delays before completing the regular season for the team.

Geneva shone all over the complex, earning top finishes in both track and field events.

Nicole Bartoletta (Monaca, PA/Central Valley) performed an outstanding day earning a first place in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 14.76 seconds before going on to earn second place finishes in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.53 seconds and the 200 meter dash with a time of 25.47 seconds. Bartoletta also earned the honor of both PAC track MVP and women’s overall MVP.

Bartoletta’s work along with Sarah Klien (Columbus, IN/Columbus East), Kailee Loose (Beaver, PA/Beaver), and Jessica Kelosky (Fombell, PA/Riverside) earned a gold medal for their 48.26 second run in the 4x100 meter relay as well as earning them the new meet record and breaking their own 2016 school record.

Kelosky also made several other appearances on the winners podium as she earned a second place finish in the women’s 400 meter dash with a time of 1:00.37 and finished her day with a silver medal in the 200 meter dash with a time of 26.30 seconds.

In the field, senior Rebekah Rupert (Greenville, PA/Greenville) lead the way for Geneva as she earned a gold medal with her throw of 37.38 meters.

Loose’s talent was not limited to the track as she also earned a second place finish in the long jump with a jump of 5.04 meters.

Geneva’s season does not end here as they are scheduled to compete on Friday, May 5 with the location and time still to be determined.
