(BEAVER FALLS, Pa.) – The best of The Genevans’ 2017 Christmas Concert will be aired on WORD-FM, 101.5 FM at 8 a.m. on Saturday, December 23 and on WBVP, 1230 AM at 1 p.m. on December 24, Christmas Eve. The a capella, student choir of Geneva College shared the good news of Christ’s birth in song in “Offerings of Righteousness,” which was recorded at the First Presbyterian Church of Beaver Falls on December 1 and 2 and will be broadcast for audiences to enjoy.
The concerts mark the 80th straight year The Genevans have performed a Christmas concert. The theme for this year’s concerts, “Offerings in Righteousness,” comes from Handel’s “And He Shall Purify” chorus from the Christmas section of Messiah.
Conductor David Kenneth Smith notes, “Christ cleanses us and is himself the righteous offering. Receiving such a gift as this, we are left to ponder what we can give. Offering our hearts in worship and holiness is the righteous offering we can bring him.”
