(BEAVER FALLS, Pa.) – Author, producer and performer Timothy Mooney will present his one-man play, “Breakneck Hamlet” at Geneva College’s John White Chapel at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 19. The performance condenses Shakespeare’s original four-hour play down to a single hour with a single actor. He will also present “The Greatest Speech of All Time” on Friday, April 20 at 10:10 a.m. in Skye Lounge in the Student Center. Both events are free to the public.

Mooney breathed new life into the works of Shakespeare with his “Shakespeare's Histories; Ten Epic Plays at a Breakneck Pace!" These one-man performances break down Shakespeare’s most difficult plays, making them accessible to all audiences. In addition, Mooney’s acting textbooks, “Acting at the Speed of Life” and “The Big Book of Moliere Monologues”, have been of great benefit to stage performers of all ages.

Mooney taught acting at Northern Illinois University and is the former founder and editor of "The Script Review." As the former Artistic Director of Chicago's Stage Two Theatre, he produced nearly fifty plays in five years, including many new English versions of the plays of Moliere. Mooney continues to present six one-man shows across North America and added a new rhymed version of “The Servant of Two Masters” to his catalogue.

Timothy Mooney is brought to the stage by the Geneva Visiting Artists and Lecture Series (GVALS).
