Geneva College Athletes of the week for the week of January 14- January 21, 2013:
Women:

Sarah-Noel Meek – Indoor Track and Field

Freshman – Distance

HS: Firestone

Akron, OH

Sarah-Noel Meek has been selected as the female student-athlete of the week. Opening up the indoor track and field season, Meek picked up where she left off in the cross country season with an impressive performance in the 3000 meter event. Meek finished fourth overall at the Baldwin-Wallace meet with a time of 11:05.51.

Men:

Matt Lorello – Basketball

Senior – Forward

HS: Mohawk

Bessemer, PA

Matt Lorello has been selected as the male student-athlete of the week. Lorello posted 19 points in a loss at Washington & Jefferson and then scored 25 points in Geneva’s overtime victory against Thiel on Saturday. For the week, Lorello was 16-21 (76.2%) from the field. Against W & J, Lorello pulled down a team best eight rebounds and against Thiel he had three blocks in the victory.
