Sarah-Noel Meek – Cross Country Freshman – Distance Akron, OH HS: Firestone Sarah-Noel Meek has been selected as the female student-athlete of the week. Meek and her teammates posted a record setting performance on Saturday at the Oberlin College Inter-Regional Rumble. Meek posted the fastest women’s cross country time in school history in becoming only one of three women to every run a sub 23-minute race. Ironically, her teammate Alayna Merkle also set that standard on Saturday. Meek ran a time of 22:05 in finishing 19th at one of the mostly highly competitive meets in the country. As a team, Geneva’s top five posted a record average time of 23:16. |

Bryan Visingardi – Football Senior – Kicker Lowellville, OH HS: Springfield Local Bryan Visingardi has been selected as the male student-athlete of the week. Visingardi helped lead Geneva to a 30-22 victory at Saint Vincent on Saturday with a perfect right foot. The senior placekicker connected on three field goals from 22,32 and 37 yards out while also posting a perfect 3-3 mark on PAT’s. Visingardi’s 32 yard field goal came on the last play of the first half to give Geneva momentum heading into the second half. For the season, Visingardi has connected on six field goals and 18 PAT’s. |
