Samantha Jensen – Tennis Freshmen Muskegon, MI HS: Muskegon Mona Shores Samantha Jensen has been named female student-athlete of the week. Jensen was a perfect 4-0 this past week in helping Geneva’s tennis team to a perfect 2-0 record. Jensen won both singles matches against Bethany and Waynesburg while also teaming with doubles partner. Jen Bullock, for a pair of victories. The perfect 2-0 week for the Golden Tornadoes pushed their overall record to 7-4 including a 5-2 mark in the PAC. |

Rocco Colavecchia– Football Junior – Quarterback New Castle, PA HS: Shenango Rocco Colavecchia has been named the male student-athlete of the week. Colavecchia’s four touchdown effort in Geneva’s home opener on Saturday sparked a 50-48 four overtime victory over the four-time defending champions Thomas More. Colavecchia scored on a pair of four yard runs in the final two and half minutes of regulation to tie the game and send it into overtime. He scored on another run in the second overtime to tie the game yet again. He finished 61 rushing yards, 30 receiving yards and 14 yards through the air. |
