Bri Cowden – Women's Basketball
Sophomore - Guard
HS: Home School
Bri Cowden has been selected as the female student-athlete of the week. With a year under her belt, sophomore captain Cowden continues to lead the Golden Tornadoes despite season hardships. At Saturday’s game against Grove City Cowden racked up a career high 15 points against the Wolverines on 6-16 shooting from the field. Cowden has done the majority of her work off the bench and again was able to offer the Golden Tornadoes a spark against the Wolverines.
Ryan White - Men's Track & Field
Sophomore - Sprints
HS: New Brighton
New Brighton, PA
Ryan White has been selected as the male student-athlete of the week. White’s athletic campaign at Geneva hit a pause in the spring of 2010 as he answered the call to Afghanistan to train Afghan Police. He returned eager to continue competing as this past weekend’s results at Baldwin Wallace clearly showed. White posted yet another broken record for the track and field program. White broke the school record in the 55 meter event with a 6.47 second speed, breaking the 2005 record by Bryan Doreian at 6.61. White’s performance was good enough for a sixth place overall finish in the 55 meter finals as he shattered the old mark by 0.18 seconds.
