Geneva College Athletes of the week for the week of January 28- February 2, 2013:
Women:

Sarah-Noel Meek – Indoor Track and Field

Freshman – Distance

HS: Firestone

Akron, OH

Sarah-Noel Meek has been selected as the female student-athlete of the week. Meek’s freshman campaign continues to set new standards in a variety of running events. Two weeks ago, Meek qualified in the 3000 meter event and after Saturday’s meet at Mt. Union she finished first in the 5000 meter event allowing her to rank eighth in the NCCAA in the 5000 meter event. Meek’s time of 18:52.89 proved to be the only sub-19 minute time of the race.

Nick Edinger - Indoor Track and Field

Senior – Distance

HS: Mars

Mars, PA

Nick Edinger has been selected as the male student-athlete of the week. Edinger continued his assault on the Geneva College men’s indoor track record book. Edinger returned from Mt. Union University on Saturday breaking his own school record and finishing with the top time of the meet at 15:34:07 in the 5000 meter event. He currently ranks #7 in the NCCAA in the 5000 meter.

Geneva College hosts a chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, an international English honors society open to English and Writing majors of high academic standing.
