Name the new mascot This semester a committee from the sophomore class, lead by Seth Wing, class activity coordinator, worked to develop a new design for the Golden Tornado mascot. But before Geneva sends the new mascot tearing through the region, it needs a name. In April students will gather suggestions and select a name for the Golden Tornado. You are encouraged to participate too by helping to name it. To submit your suggestion, simply e-mail Jeff Schindel at pr@geneva.edu before Saturday, April 16.
The activities committee will review suggestions and several names will be selected. Join the students in selecting the mascot's name by visiting the Web site the week of April 18 to vote. Once the mascot is named Geneva plans to use it to strengthen its relationship in the community. Lori Reda, a Geneva alum and a graduate assistant, and Seth Wing plan to coordinate this effort with Jeff Schindel, director of public relations and marketing. The Golden Tornado mascot will appear this summer in community parades, county fairs, and other special events. Tentative plans have been made to coordinate appearances with WORD FM 101.5, Pittsburgh 's Christian radio station, at Christian events in the Pittsburgh region this summer.
