civil_rights.jpgCivil rights bus tour
Todd Allen, assistant communication professor, is leading a nine-day bus tour of key civil rights–era sites. The trip, which runs this month, started in Greensboro, North Carolina, and will end in Cincinnati, Ohio. This is the fourth time Allen has organized the trip, and interest has grown each year. Seventy-eight participants signed up, nearly doubling last year's number.

Allen added several stops to the tour this year, including the Underground Railroad Freedom Center in Cincinnati. The group will also meet with civil rights leaders such as Rip Patton, a former Freedom Rider, and Atlanta Congressman John Lewis, who was a member of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee.

kennywood.jpgSummer fun for alumni
Geneva has planned several summer alumni events for the whole family to enjoy. The summer festivities begin with a camping and picnic excursion to Moraine State Park July 22–23. For thrill-seeking alumni, the college is hosting Geneva Day at Kennywood amusement park Friday, August 12. Both events offer you a great opportunity to reconnect with your college friends to catch up on families, careers and relationships.

...PRAY FOR EACH OTHER..." James 5:16

Geneva has lost several senior faculty members in recent years, and new educators are replacing them. The college asks for your prayers both for those individuals and for their gifts in teaching, that they may exemplify the integration of faith and life in their classrooms and in their lives. Pray for wisdom in the selection of other faculty members and for God's blessing on the lives of those leaving full time teaching to pursue other work in Christ's kingdom.
