Institutional advancement welcomes new director

Bob BeavinGeneva is pleased to welcome Bob Beavin as director of development. Beavin joined the institutional advancement team in May, bringing with him extensive experience in both education and development. Having worked for Christian organizations for most of his life, Beavin is excited to continue his service for Christ’s kingdom at Geneva.

“I know that if I do my job, good things are going to happen,” Beavin says.

Beavin’s duties center around Geneva’s Annual Fund as he works with donors to provide the essential resources needed to further the college’s mission of developing servant-leaders to transform society for the kingdom of Christ. Viewing fundraising as a ministry, Beavin says that he hopes to encourage people in generosity and in blessing others as they have been blessed.

Beavin has been highly involved on the Christian education scene, teaching at the Westminster Academy in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; serving as a founding board member of Veritas Christian School in Columbus, Ohio; and working in development and admissions at Patrick Henry College in Purcellville, Va. Beavin has also served in development and public relations with ministries such as Evangelism Explosion International, In Touch Ministries and Bible Literature International. He graduated from Olivet Nazarene University with a bachelor's degree in history and completed graduate courses in history and education at the University of Michigan, Florida Atlantic University and the University of Scranton.

Originally from Indianapolis, Ind., Beavin and his family will be transitioning from Berryville, Va. to Pennsylvania. He and his wife, Janet, have five children and are actively involved in their church, where they have filled many positions of service and leadership over the years.
