After planning and providing thousands of meals for students, faculty and staff, Director of Food Services Steve Bandi is bidding farewell to the Geneva community. Bandi will pass his responsibilities on to Clayton Cappellanti, the new director of the Alexander Hall cafeteria, the Brigadoon and the Riverview Café.

Bandi's passion for Geneva makes him feel like he “hasn't had to go to work in 10 years,” and he wanted his successor to share his appreciation for the college and its people. “I interviewed many candidates for the position and Clayton was a great fit,” Bandi says. “He possesses a skill set that really can improve our dimensions here at Geneva, especially for the students.”

Coming to Geneva with an extensive background in both college and restaurant food service, Cappellanti has worked for Outback Steakhouse, Bravo Franco Ristorante, and West Virginia University, his alma mater. His culinary training has also taken him overseas to Italy. Cappellanti values the way Bandi has connected to the Geneva community and says he hopes to do the same.

Although Bandi is leaving Geneva's campus, he won't be far away. He will be moving into a new area of Pioneer Foods, the food service that accommodates Geneva College, as the company’s district supervisor.

“He will be an important resource to me,” Cappellanti says. “Only three miles or a phone call away.”
