Alumni_Weekend.jpgMay Day traditions from days gone by will reappear on campus during Alumni Weekend April 20 and 21.

This year’s celebrations will kick off at 11:30 a.m. Friday, April 20, with the Heritage Luncheon, followed by the annual Alumni Dinner that evening. Nominated alumni will be presented with the Distinguished Service and Life G Awards.

Saturday’s events include reunion brunches, a carillon concert, memorial service, dedication of McCartney Library’s newly renovated archives, a living history demonstration and a special tea for former May Queens and May Court members.

“We decided it might be fun to relive some memories and some traditions,” said Alumni Relations Director Ginny (Montini '68) Caldwell. “To my knowledge, this is the first May Queen, May Court reunion.”

Topping off the weekend will be the Founders Day Gala in Metheny Fieldhouse Saturday night. Titled “As Time Goes By,” the evening will feature a musical journey through the months of the year. A special highlight will be a May Pole dance performed by current students.
