Geneva College Athletes of the week for the week of April 23-28, 2012:

Women:

Liz Michalak – Track and Field
Senior – Multi-Events
Ashville, NY

Liz Michalak has been selected as the female student athlete of the week. Competing in numerous events for the Geneva College track and field team on Saturday at the PAC Championships, Michalak became just one of two Golden Tornadoes to capture a conference championship. Michalak picked up the gold medal in the high jump event. Finishing with a winning distance of 5-00.85, Michalak picked up ten points for a Geneva women’s team that finished fifth overall at its first official PAC meet.

Men:

Josh Guiser – Track and Field
Freshman – Sprinter
Fayette City, PA

Josh Guiser has been selected as the male student-athlete of the week. Competing in his first championship meet, the freshman put together the most impressive effort for the Geneva men’s team. Guiser finished second in the men’s 100 meter dash with a finals time of 11.44. Guiser finished just .03 seconds behind the eventual conference champion in the event.
