Zack Hayward and Sarah-Noel Meek

Geneva College Athletes of the week for the week of September 7 - 12, 2012:

Women:

Sarah-Noel Meek – Cross Country
Freshman

Sarah-Noel Meek has been selected as the women’s student-athlete of the week. Noel ran the sixth fastest 6K in her first ever collegiate meet. Noel took home first place at the Westminster Invitational with a time of 24:00, which was 58 seconds faster than the next closest competitor. Noel led a Geneva women’s team that posted just 21 points in defeating the closest team by over 40 points.

Zack Hayward has been selected as the men’s student-athlete of the week. Hayward rewrote the Geneva College football record books on Saturday despite a 56-53 loss at Frostburg State. Hayward complete 39-49 passes for a record 535 yards and seven touchdowns. The 39 completions, 535 yards and seven touchdowns also broke records in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference. Hayward rushed for 39 yards just for good measure.

Point of Excellence

Geneva College is the only CCCU institution with a full-time program in Rome, Italy. In Rome, students spend a semester studying the humanities, traveling throughout Italy and Europe, and engaging in volunteer activities.
