Geneva College Athletes of the week for the week of October 11-16, 2010:

Julia Urbanski – Cross Country

Julia Urbanski has been selected as the female student-athlete of the week. Urbanski ran the fourth fastest 6K race in school history. It was the first sub-24 minute 6K since 2008 as she finished 64th out of 219 runners at the highly competitive Oberlin meet on Saturday. She finished the 6K in 23:47 which was a personal best time by an amazing 1:23. Urbanski and her teammates will now prepare for the PAC Championships coming up on October 30.

Caleb Musselman has been selected as the male student-athlete of the week. Musselman collected the lone goal in Geneva’s 1-0 victory over Washington & Jefferson on Saturday to help the Golden Tornadoes improve to 12-2-1 on the season. Musselman has been solid all season for Geneva playing a midfield position that has allowed him to score several big goals while also providing solid defense in front of the Golden Tornadoes net. Geneva has won ten of its last 11 matches and continues its pursuit toward the NCCAA regional tournament as season’s end.

Geneva is the first college in the country to offer a five-year B.S. /M.S. degree in cardiovascular science technology through Inova Heart and Vascular Institute in Virginia.
