Rachel Rouan has been selected as the female student-athlete of the week. Rouan posted 16 points in Geneva’s season opening victory at Penn State Greater Allegheny. She was 8-11 from the field to lead the Golden Tornadoes to a 61-44 victory over the Lions. On Thursday night, Rouan scored 11 points and grabbed five rebounds despite Geneva dropping a 64-52 decision to Ursuline at the home opener.

Bryan Butler has been selected as the male student-athlete of the week. Butler stood tall in the NCCAA East regional championship with a shut-out against Malone University. The Golden Tornadoes registered a tie with the Pioneers and managed to advance with a 4-2 edge in penalty kicks. Butler made nine saves in regulation and overtime to get Geneva to the penalty kick round where he turned away Malone’s first shooter to give Geneva an early edge in the penalty kick round. With the victory, Geneva advances to the NCCAA national tournament I Kissimmee, FL.
