Geneva College Athletes of the week for the week of November 15-20, 2010:

Female:

Beth DeLuca – Basketball

Beth DeLuca has been selected as the female student-athlete of the week. Following a season opening loss to Penn State Beaver, DeLuca and her Geneva teammates rebounded for victories over Penn State Greater Allegheny and a win in the rematch against Penn State Beaver on Saturday night. DeLuca scored a team best 15 points on Saturday night and averaged 11 points per game in the first three contests of the year. Shooting 50% from the field, DeLuca also contributed with three rebounds per game and four steals in the opening week of the season.

Rich Colick has been selected as the male student-athlete of the week. Colick accepted an award for becoming the 34th player in school history to record 1000 points prior to the season opener. He then proceeded to lead Geneva to its first Tip-Off Tournament championship in five years. Colick averaged 20.0 points in the two games including a 26 point performance in the championship game victory over Hiram. For the week, he shot 60% from the field, averaged eight rebounds and led the team with four steals to go along with his 20 point per game average.
