Geneva College Athletes of the week for the week of November 23-28, 2009:

Female:

Beth DeLuca – Basketball
Sophomore – Guard

Beth DeLuca has been selected as the Female Student-Athlete of the Week. DeLuca averaged ten points in two games last week for the Golden Tornadoes. Despite losses to Penn State Beaver and Fredonia State, DeLuca managed to shoot close to 40% from the field including a pair of three point field goals. DeLuca also had six rebounds, four assists and five steals in Geneva’s two losses last week. For the season, DeLuca is averaging just under ten points per game and nearly four rebounds per contest.

Rich Colick – Basketball

Rich Colick has been selected as the Male Student-Athlete of the Week. Colick posted 22 points in a loss at Baldwin-Wallace and then a team best 18 points in leading Geneva past LaRoche on Saturday. Colick was 8-9 against LaRoche and is shooting over 56% from the field for the season. Colick leads Geneva 18.4 points and 7.0 rebounds per game in the first five games of the year. Colick also started the year with 23 consecutive made free throws and is currently shooting foul shots at a 93% clip.
