Alyse Scarsella – Basketball

Alyse Scarsella has been selected as the female student-athlete of the week. Scarsella scored eight points and grabbed six rebounds in Geneva’s 75-48 victory over Carlow last week. In the loss at Thomas More, Scarsella duplicated her eight point performance with five rebounds. For the season, Scarsella has started five games and is averaging 8.1 points and six rebounds per game for the 5-6 Golden Tornadoes.

Rich Colick has been selected as the male student-athlete of the week. Despite an 0-3 road trip last week, the Golden Tornadoes got some solid play from their leading scorer. Colick led Geneva in scoring against both Florida Tech (18 pts) and Thomas More (18 pts). Colick is averaging 17.6 points per game and 7.3 rebounds per game to lead the Golden Tornadoes in both categories. Geneva dropped a pair of games to Florida Tech and Flagler in the sunshine state before falling to Thomas More in Kentucky on Saturday.
