Geneva College Athletes of the week for the week of January 17-22, 2011:

Female:

Aisha Moore – Indoor Track and Field
Junior – Jumper, Sprinter

Aisha Moore has been selected as the female student-athlete of the week. In the first indoor meet of the season, Moore managed to qualify for the NCCAA national meet for the third consecutive year. Competing in several events, the junior posted a third place overall finish in the triple jump with a qualifying distance of 13-03.25 ft. Moore was one of six Geneva track student-athletes to qualify for the national meet on Saturday.

Bryan Hill has been selected as the male student-athlete of the week. Hill helped the Golden Tornadoes win a pair of PAC games on the road last week with victories over Waynesburg and W & J. The wins pushed Geneva’s current streak to four straight with its 13-4 overall record standing as the second best mark to start a season under head coach Jeff Santarsiero. Hill scored a team best 17 points in the win at Waynesburg including five three-point field goals. The PAC leader in treys made three more with a 15 point effort at W & J. Hill was held scoreless in the first half against the President’s but preceded to make three straight shots down the stretch to help Geneva get the victory. For the season, Hill has a conference best 54 three-point field goals.
