Christine Carugati – Basketball Christine Carugati has been selected as the female student-athlete of the week. Carugati’s 16 points against Thiel came all in the second half of a heartbreaking 68-66 loss. Carugati’s three-point field goal with 0.2 seconds remaining tied the game before Thiel’s controversial victory. On Saturday, the senior guard scored 21 points on 9-14 shooting from the field to defeat Bethany 82-70 to put an end to their five-game losing streak. |

Matt Lorello – Basketball Matt Lorello has been selected as the male student-athlete of the week. Lorello saw the Golden Tornadoes finish the week with a 1-1 record and the sophomore forward came off the bench in both games and did not miss a shot. Making both field goal attempts in an 80-77 victory over Thiel on Wednesday, Lorello followed that with a ten point performance in a loss at Bethany. The Bison saw Lorello go 3-3 from the floor and 4-4 from the foul line in just 14 minutes of action. For the season, Lorello leads Geneva with a 68% mark from the field. |
