Geneva College Athletes of the week for the week of December 2-7, 2012:

Female:

Chelsea Kauffman– Basketball

Chelsea Kauffman has been selected as the female student-athlete of the week. Kauffman helped lead Geneva to back to back victories including its first two wins inside the Presidents’ Athletic Conference. Kauffman scored a team high 17 points in Geneva’s decisive win over Chatham to gain its first conference victory. On Saturday, the Golden Tornadoes upended Thiel College as Kauffman added ten points and five rebounds to the Geneva cause.

David Phillips has been named male student-athlete of the week for the second consecutive week. After joining Geneva’s 1000 point club a week ago, Phillips continued to find the basket with regularity despite a pair of Geneva losses. Phillips scored 23 points in a loss at Wooster before posting a 21 point performance at Thiel on Saturday. For the season, Phillips is second on the team in scoring with nearly 15 points per game.
