Beth DeLuca – Basketball Beth DeLuca has been selected as the female student-athlete of the week. After suffering losses to Thomas More and Saint Vincent to open the week, the Golden Tornadoes got an 18 point performance from DeLuca in a 71-70 victory at Chatham College. DeLuca knocked down four three-point field goals in just six attempts as part of a 6-7 effort from the team in the second half against the Cougars. DeLuca was 7-10 from the field and added five rebounds in helping Geneva move to 7-6 on the season. |

David Phillips – Basketball David Phillips has been selected as the male student-athlete of the week. Phillips and the Golden Tornadoes split a pair of games last week with a win over Thomas More followed by a loss at Saint Vincent. Phillips netted 23 points in the victory and added 20 points in the loss at Latrobe. Phillips was 6-8 from three point range in the win over Thomas More and added two more treys in the loss to Saint Vincent. Shooting close to 43% from beyond the arc for the season, Phillips also leads Geneva with his 93% shooting mark from the foul line. |
