Geneva College Athletes of the week for the week of February 14-19, 2011:

Female:

Julia Urbanski – Indoor Track & Field
Junior – Distance, Middle-Distance
Elizabeth, PA

Julia Urbanski has been selected as the female student-athlete of the week. One of two Geneva women to qualify in two events at the NCCAA national meet, Urbanski turned in top ten performances in both. First she turned in a time of 5:24.20 in the one mile run to finish sixth overall. She then finished sixth in the 800 meter with a time of 2:24.94. Both times set new Geneva indoor records. Geneva head coach Brian Yowler described her day as perhaps the best individual performance he has seen In his six years at Geneva College.

Tyler French – Indoor Track & Field
Sophomore – Thrower
Bessemer, PA

Tyler French has been selected as the male student-athlete of the week. French turned in Geneva’s top male performance on the national stage at the NCCAA National indoor track and field meet on Saturday. French finished fourth overall in the shot put with a personal best distance of 46-04. French picked up all 11 points for the Geneva men at the meet.
