Renee Rawding & Bryan Hill

Geneva College Athletes of the week for the week of February 1-6, 2010:

Female:

Renee Rawding – Basketball

Renee Rawding has been selected as the female student-athlete of the week. After missing her first six shots in Geneva’s loss to nationally ranked Thomas More, Rawding caught fire to lead Geneva with 19 points. Rawding scored 16 of her points in the second half to try and keep Geneva close against the Saints. For the season, Rawding leads Geneva with 12.7 points per game while also knocking down a team best 30 three-point field goals.

Bryan Hill has been selected as the male student-athlete of the week. Hill scored 17 points in a 92-89 loss to Thomas More last Wednesday. He was 5-7 from three-point range including a long distance three pointer that tied the game with 25 seconds remaining in the second half. That three-point field goal capped a 15 point second half comeback for the Golden Tornadoes. He also dished out three assists and picked up a pair of rebounds in the loss. For the season, Hill leads Geneva with 41 three-point field goals while averaging eight points per game.
