Kim Slater - Softball Kim Slater has been selected as the Female Student-Athlete of the Week. Slater helped the Golden Tornadoes to a perfect 4-0 week with doubleheader sweeps over LaRoche and Penn State Greater Allegheny. Slater connected on a two-out single in the seventh inning in game one against LaRoche that tied the game. Geneva eventually won the contest in extra innings. For the week, Slater was 6-12 (.500) with a team best seven RBI's. The Golden Tornadoes are 8-6 to start the season with a current four-game winning streak. |

Justin McGurgan - Baseball Justin McGurgan has been selected as the Male Student-Athlete of the Week. McGurgan and his Geneva College teammates scored 59 runs in four games last week while posting a 3-1 record. McGurgan enjoyed a career week by going 10-12 (.833) at the plate with three runs and five RBI's. He also enjoyed an on-base percentage of .857 (12-14). The Golden Tornadoes have started the 2009 campaign with an overall record of 11-3. |
