Kara Zimmerman - Softball Kara Zimmerman has been selected as the Female Student-Athlete of the week. Zimmerman collected four hits and drove in five runs during Geneva's week in Florida. Zimmerman lifted the Golden Tornadoes to a 7-3 victory over Hiram College with a go-ahead two-run home run. She also turned in an RBI single later in the game to seal the victory. Zimmerman also provided a pinch-hit RBI single for Geneva's lone run in a 2-1 loss to Hope College on Saturday. |

Derek Sumner - Baseball Derek Sumner has been selected as the Male Student-Athlete of the week. Sumner helped lead his Geneva team to a perfect 6-0 week in Ft. Pierce, FL. Sumner won both starts on the mound with a combined 23 strikeouts in victories over Martin Luther and Bethany. Sumner also chipped in with his bat by sparking a 6-5 comeback victory over Bethany on Saturday. Sumner's sixth inning grand slam sparked a five-run inning that led to Geneva's seventh consecutive victory. |
