Geneva College Athletes of the week for the week of April 14-19:

Female:

Tiffany Bear - Track & Field
Junior - Multi-event
Lebanon, PA

Tiffany Bear has been selected as this week's female athlete of the week. Bear competed at the IUP Multi-Event and turned in the third best performance in the heptathlon in school history. Bear finished the event with 4,042 total points and qualified for the NCCAA nationals in May. Included in her two-day total were personal bests in the long jump at 16 ft. 10 in. and in the 800 meter race with a time of 2:48.

Luke Duriancik - Track & Field
Junior - Multi-event
Vandergrift, PA

Luke Duriancik has been selected as this week's male athlete of the week. Duriancik competed at the IUP Multi-Event on Saturday and came away a national qualifier in his first attempt in the Decathlon. Duriancik became the number three all-time decathlon performer in school history with his two day totals. Included in his 4,946 points were three personal bests, including a school record in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 16.82. He also pulled off personal bests in the javelin and 1500 meter race. For his efforts, he qualified for the NCCAA national meet to be held on May 3rd at Indiana Wesleyan University.
