Geneva College Athletes of the week for the week of April 19-24, 2010:

Female:

Julia Urbanski – Track and Field
Sophomore
Elizabeth, PA

Julia Urbanski has been selected as the female student-athlete of the week. Urbanski and her teammates competed twice last week with outstanding results. On Wednesday, she finished second in the 1500 meter event at Bethany while also posting a second place finish and personal record in the 800 meter event. On Saturday, Urbanski placed eighth overall in the 800 meter event at the very competitive Baldwin-Wallace meet. She then turned around and finished fifth in the 1500 meter race with a time of 4:52.14.

Phil Shallenberger – Baseball
Senior
Apollo, PA

Phil Shallenberger has been selected as the male student-athlete of the week. Shallenberger played the role of hero twice on Tuesday as he came up with a pair of walk-off game winners as the Golden Tornadoes swept Westminster College. Geneva has won five straight including a perfect 4-0 week thanks to the efforts of Shallenberger. He was 3-7 with four RBI’s in the doubleheader sweep while also helping Geneva get single game victories over Grove City and Waynesburg.
