Tiffany Bear & Dan Dillman

Geneva College Athletes of the week for the week of April 27 - May 2:

Female:

Tiffany Bear - Track & Field
Senior - Javelin
Lebanon, PA

Tiffany Bear has been selected as the Female Student-Athlete of the Week. If anyone was deserving of an athlete of the week award it is Tiffany Bear. She is also worthy of an "overcoming adversity" award. She started the week not knowing if she would be able to compete at all with a significant back injury. The injury kept her out of the heptathlon event, but not the javelin. Thankfully, she was able to compete and did she ever. Bear won the national championship in the javelin at the NCCAA national meet with a throw of over 140 feet. She beat her next closest competitor by almost eight feet in claiming her first ever national title.

Dan Dillman has been selected as the Male Student-Athlete of the Week. Dillman captured a pair of top finishes at the NCCAA national track and field meet over the weekend. Dillman picked up a fifth place spot in the shot put with his toss of 40 ft. - 9 in. He followed that effort with an eighth place finish in the discus with a throw of 130 ft. - 10 in. Dillman posted two of Geneva's top ten performances for the meet.
