Amy Pearce - Softball Amy Pearce has been selected as the Female Student-Athlete of the Week. In Pearce's final at-bat of the week, she smashed her third home run of the season and her record breaking 24th dinger of her career. Pearce became Geneva's all-time home run leader breaking a record that was set back in 2003. Pearce helped Geneva to a 3-1 week with a .500 batting average (7-14) and six RBI's. The Golden Tornadoes ended the week with an overall record of 16-10. |

Derek Sumner - Baseball Derek Sumner has been selected as the Male Student-Athlete of the Week. Sumner became Geneva's all-time strikeout leader with a ten strikeout performance in a victory over Grove City. Sumner improved to 6-2 on the season and has now collected a record 221 strikeouts in his four year career. Sumner also helped Geneva's cause in a doubleheader split with his bat. He belted home runs in each game to pace Geneva's offense to 21 runs against Grove City. The Golden Tornadoes are now 16-8 on the season, including Sumner's six victories. |
