Maura Allen – Women’s Soccer Maura Allen has been selected as the female student-athlete of the week. Allen helped lead the Geneva women’s soccer team to a perfect 2-0 record to start the new season. The Golden Tornadoes outscored Penn State Beaver and Franciscan 11-0 in the first two matches. Allen scored a pair of goals in the opening night victory against Penn State Beaver before posting her first career hat trick in scoring each of Geneva’s three goals in a 3-0 win at Franciscan on Saturday. |

Nick Edinger – Men’s Cross Country Nick Edinger enjoyed an outstanding opening week on the cross country course. Participating in a pair of opening week meets, Edinger finished second on opening day as the Golden Tornadoes defeated both Thiel and Waynesburg. On Saturday, Edinger finished third overall in a field comprised of ten schools. Posting a time of 26:44 at the Westminster College Fisher Invitational, Edinger improved upon his time at the same course by over two minutes from a year ago. In the process, he became just the third runner in Geneva history to break the 27 minute barrier on an 8K course. Geneva finished fourth overall on Saturday with its top five runners finishing in the top 25. |
