Geneva College Athletes of the week for the week of September 27 - October 2, 2010:

Rachel Kuegler has been selected as the female student-athlete of the week. Kuegler helped lead the Golden Tornadoes to a perfect 3-0 week which extended their win streak to seven straight and improved their overall record to 16-2. Kuegler’s best performance of the week came in the second match of the day on Saturday when she was nearly unstoppable in a 3-1 victory over Thomas More. Kuegler had a team best 19 kills and 19 digs to go along with three blocks and three service aces.

Garrett Masters has been selected as the male student-athlete of the week. Masters capped off a three-goal week with the game tying goal in the final minute of regulation against Thomas More. Masters’ goal sent the Thomas More game into overtime where Geneva ultimately pulled out a victory for its sixth victory in a row. Masters opened the week with a pair of goals in Geneva’s 10-0 victory over Penn State Beaver.
